Antique Swedish Painted Rocking Chairs

We have the largest stock of antique swedish country painted Gungstol rocking chairs in the UK. We bring new antique chairs over from Sweden every month.

They come from North Sweden and were handcrafted in the early - late 1800s with lovely detail and very graceful curves.

Traditionally they would be decorated in handpainted folk art patterns - often black with gold and coloured motifs but we find them in a variety of plain colours including white , grey, black, swedish pale blue and soft green

They come in a variety of shapes with 4 or 6 legs and make a lovely design statement in your living room or bedroom.

They are also supremely comfortable.We sell many to expectant and nursing mothers.The 6 leg gungstol has a 70cm wide seat that makes it perfect for feeding and cradling your baby or resting while pregnant.
