An angel in Rottingdean …. Elif Kose
In a little village on the outskirts of Brighton, England, there lives an angel named Elif Kose. I first met her in her tiny sewing shop of where she made beautiful dresses and allterations and even known to repair the occasional broken heart…. people are never just what they seem…. When anyone came in to have anything fixed they could not help but go away with a smile. Yes, she could sew a smile on to any stern face…. It’s amazing what you can do with a few stitches of magical thread that stems from a magical heart …
She now has sold her little sewing shop and bought a shop just down the road …. upon the front window she has a quote .. ‘you are never fully dressed until you wear a smile’ …. how true ….
She sells all the things a girl needs … beautiful clothes … soaps especially brought in from Turkey, her homeland … soft towels.. perfumes … silk underwear … furniture .. clocks … bears.. jewellery … its all here … gifts … christmas decorations …
As a gift she once made me this amazing scarf … for years she collected handkerchiefs from vintage fairs, all of which where embroided with M .. she then sewed them up to make the scarf…. how lovely is that …. I wonder how many tears I wear on my neck …. I shall treasure this always ..
Another year she made me this … bloomers of silk with hand sewn lace bottoms … hand sewn by her …. who has the time to do that anymore … see I told you she is an angel …..
I bought this beautiful cardigan from her … I could not resist …. please, oh please darling Elif get the red one back in ….. its like a waterfall of loveliness upon your back .. so soft …. get there .. visit the angel of ROTTINGDEAN …..
