Bringing the colours of Autumn into kitchen …..
I love this time of year, in fact I love all the seasons for the wonders that they bring … but autumn, well maybe this beats them all …. stews, fires, a nip in the air, autumn leaves & walks in the countryside, a chance to wear layer upon layer of Ewa I Walla’s, candlelit rooms, sunsets ….. just wonderful … above all I love the ruddiness of colours that she brings … so today as I opened my vegetable box (abel and cole, great quality, seasonal and sourced locally whenever they can) I couldn’t help but bask in their colours… so I thought I would share them with you … I arranged them in a wooden basket so I could enjoy them for the day until I placed them to cool down in the fridge later …..
This beautiful old metal candleholder lends a beautiful glow on a grey monday morning … add a little music … and suddenly what grey monday morning! The wooden doll was from a brocant in France ….
This painting is of me by my mother .. I still have the blue chair that I am sitting on …. we painted the chair together one late summer evening fifteen years ago outside their house in the Swedish forest…. beautiful memories … ….. I remember boarding the plane back to England with a whole pile of furniture and not being charged anything extra … gone are those days … I think I was siting in the chair as I waited to be checked in ….
I placed a woven ringed candle holder around this bowl of fruit to give it more rustic feel …..
I love Lantliv …. a Swedish magazine that I have ordered from Sweden … in fact my parents buy it every christmas as a gift for me … its full of all things Swedish … they often feature Ewa I Walla too ….. to order a copy go to tidningenlantliv.se
