Scandinavian Swedish Bedroom designed by Swedish Interior Design
In designing this bedroom space, we wanted to create a holistic sanctuary using organic non toxic paint in a custom colour that goes from an off white in strong light through to a cool light blue in shadow.
The centre piece is the Bespoke bed we we made with matching bespoke coronet – it started as a 4′ 6″ wide french antique bed which we extended to 6′ wide and made a new head board. Then we took an original 1800s swedish gustavian carving as the centre piece for the coronet.
The walls feature a trompe l’oeil wreath design copied from a 1700s Swedish manor house we visited and we handmade bespoke shutters in antique oak to cover the huge windows – off the peg shutters are generally of an uninteresting design so this way we made exactly what we wanted.
The antique mora clock is a very early one from the late 1700s and echoes the earlier baroque clock shape while the huge bespoke antique hemp linen rug we made with thick underflooring is incredibly comfy under foot.
The bedside tables are 1800s gustavian original console tables that have been lime washed and we also have antique gustavian chest of drawers by the window.
If you fancy a fairy tale bedroom like this, do contact us to discuss what you would like – a combination of artistry and antiques and bespoke bedroom pieces.
