Antique Fryksdal style Mora Clock from Sweden early 1800s with white paint finish and beautifully detailed handpainted gold on the body.
This mora clock at approx 206cm with a lovely pinched waist.
It has the makers name on the face – Carl Norrel. It seems to have been a wedding gift to his daughter Brita in her marriage to Olaf Svensson – as evidenced by the inscription.
The body has the usual wood movement and paint distressing common to a clock of this period. The face is in good condition.
The clock is sold ‘as is’ : as a decorative piece only with the original mechanism and pendulum but not guaranteed to be in working order – If you want it working we can fit a professional hi torque battery mechanism for time keeping ( +£195) or you can have a great sounding chiming mech which replays the recorded chime through a small speaker with a volume control and 8 hour night off switch (+£295).
